NOTICE DATE: February 6, 2020

NOTICE TYPE: M-A020620-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Change in Indicative Real-Time Dispatch (RTD) to use persistence for all intervals

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: March 2, 2020

LONG DESCRIPTION: On March 2, 2020, ERCOT will update the methodology for indicative Real-Time Dispatch (RTD) to use persistence for all intervals. RTD is also referred to as Look-Ahead SCED (LASCED) and calculates projected non-binding Base Points and Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs). Currently, RTD uses Current Operating Plan (COP) data as an input for Resource commitment status and Ancillary Service responsibilities for intervals corresponding to the subsequent Operating Hour. With this change, RTD will use telemetered values at the time of RTD execution for all intervals. The change will be implemented between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM on March 2, 2020.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Details on the calculation of non-binding projection of the Base Points and LMPs can be found in Nodal Protocol Section 6.5.7.3 (11), Security Constrained Economic Dispatch .  Additional information on the impact of changing the methodology for indicative RTD to use persistence was presented at the January 28, 2020 Demand Side Working Group (DSWG) meeting.
