SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update to the Generic Limits for the Nelson Sharpe - Rio Hondo Generic Transmission Constraint

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: March 18, 2020

LONG DESCRIPTION:  Based on the results of the Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA) for Q1 of 2020, performed pursuant to Planning Guide Section 5.9 Quarterly Stability Assessment, ERCOT has identified updates to the Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) in the Nelson Sharpe – Rio Hondo area.  The GTC was first established in 2015 to address instability issues in the Ajo area and was expanded in 2017 to include the Nelson Sharpe – Rio Hondo region.

The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of this update to the Nelson Sharpe – Rio Hondo GTC.  ERCOT will begin enforcing the updated limits for this GTC on March 18, 2020.

Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT MIS Secure Area in the Generic Transmission Constraints portlet.  A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
