SHORT DESCRIPTION:  UPDATE: ERCOT Precautionary Measures in Response to Coronavirus – Visitation Restrictions to all ERCOT Facilities

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  All Market Participants, Corporate Members and Visitors

DAYS AFFECTED:  March 3, 2020 – Ongoing

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT continues to closely monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and follow guidance from federal, state, and local health agencies, along with epidemiologist recommendations.  As such, ERCOT will continue to restrict visitation on all ERCOT facilities for the foreseeable future.  

Last week, ERCOT consulted with Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and TAC Subcommittee leadership to discuss the stakeholder governance process and the duration of remote stakeholder meetings going forward.  Due to social distancing guidelines and limited ability to accommodate medium to large stakeholder meetings at ERCOT facilities for the health and safety of such visitors, ERCOT and TAC leadership have determined that all stakeholder meetings will continue to operate remotely for the foreseeable future.  To address the long-term effectiveness and potential governance restrictions of remote stakeholder meetings, TAC will be considering appropriate changes to the TAC Procedures at its May 27, 2020 meeting.  Additional details will be provided by the TAC Chair and with the TAC informational posting.     

Consistent with Market Notice M-A030320-01, ERCOT is taking the following actions to mitigate transmission of COVID-19:

Once again, the visitation restrictions to all ERCOT facilities is extended and all stakeholder meetings will be WebEx only for the foreseeable future.  ERCOT will review these visitor restrictions, including stakeholder meetings, as necessary and send updated Market Notices.
