NOTICE DATE: September 21, 2020

NOTICE TYPE: R-A092120-01 Retail

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Availability of TX SET Validation in the Retail Market Testing Environment

INTENDED AUDIENCE: TDSPs, LSEs

DAYS AFFECTED: September 21, 2020 - November 2, 2020

LONG DESCRIPTION:On November 2, 2020, ERCOT will be upgrading the production software that performs .EDI ANSI and TX SET validations.  This release is in conjunction with an upgrade to the NAESB version supporting an increased level of data exchange security.  Release notes and details have been discussed at RMS and appropriate working groups for well over a year.  ERCOT will also provide the prescribed 30 day, 10 day, and pre-release weekend Market notices as required.

We encourage our trading partners to verify that their .EDI formatting and data structure matches the documented TX SET Documentation exactly.  Those Market Participants that utilize an .EDI service provider should verify compliance.  Changes have been made to these standards following the prescribed Change Control Approval process.

During the internal ERCOT testing phase Market Participant production data has been processed on the updated standards.  Some of the received data is not in line with the current TX SET code and will be expected to fail in production following the referenced release.  These files will have to be corrected and resubmitted by the Market Participant.

Some examples of current production data that have been identified in testing and will fail without correction following go-live:

Please note the code base is currently available in the Retail Market Test Environment.  Market Participants can verify compliance at any point between now and the release weekend in this environment.

ACTION REQUIRED: Verification of compliance with the current TX SET Guidelines in anticipation of the November 2, 2020, PR288 Release.
