SHORT DESCRIPTION:  National Weather Service Heat Advisory – CenterPoint Energy Suspension of Disconnect for Non-Pay Orders has EXPIRED.

 

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Retail Electric Providers

 

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The National Weather Service Heat Advisory that was in effect through Friday, September 4, 2020, has expired for the CenterPoint Energy Service Territory.

 

Per market rules, DNP orders are suspended through Sunday, September 6, 2020, meaning that CenterPoint Energy will resume DNP orders from Competitive Retailers on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

 

 

CenterPoint Energy’s Process for Extreme Weather Moratoriums on Disconnects:

• Disconnect for Non-Payment (DNP) 650_01 transactions that were previously submitted and are currently in our system will be Completed Unexecutable with a code of “V001” for any DNP with a “Date Wanted” that is within the Moratorium window.  
• New “Same Day” DNP orders that are submitted during the existing Weather Moratorium will be rejected with a Weather Advisory code of “W” for A13 – Weather Advisory
• New DNP orders may be submitted for requested future “Date Wanted” dates and will be accepted by our system.  However, the future “Date Wanted” should be in accordance to the CenterPoint Energy resume DNP orders date listed.
