SHORT DESCRIPTION: Proposal to Retire Barney Davis RAS

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED: October 26, 2020

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has received a proposal from American Electric Power (AEP) to retire the Barney Davis Remedial Action Scheme (RAS). This RAS is designed to monitor current flow on the six lines connected to the Barney Davis 138kV bus, which determines the total output of the Barney Davis plant. AEP has indicated that the RAS is no longer needed because exit strategy transmission system upgrades have been completed.

The proposal to retire the Barney Davis RAS is being reviewed by ERCOT.

ACTION REQUIRED: Comments to this proposal are due to ERCOT by October 26, 2020, using the attached form.
