SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update to the interface definition for the Valley Import GTC

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: January 20, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION: The Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) definition is being updated to reflect changes in the system topology and to allow for accurate monitoring of real-time flows. The GTC was first established in 2015 to address the instability issues in the Valley import area.

The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of this update to the Valley Import GTC.  ERCOT will begin enforcing the changes for this GTC on January 20, 2021.

Details associated with all GTCs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area on the Grid Transmission page under Generic Transmission Limits (EMIL ID NP3-766-M, Report ID 11424). A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
