SHORT DESCRIPTION: Final ERCOT report on estimating the Market Equilibrium and Economically Optimal Reserve Margins posted

LONG DESCRIPTION: Section 2.3 of ERCOT's Study Process and Methodology Manual for evaluating the Market Equilibrium Reserve Margin (MERM) and Economically Optimal Reserve Margin (EORM) provides that ERCOT will conduct a study of the MERM and EORM every even-numbered year. Consistent with this established process, ERCOT conducted a study of the MERM and EORM in 2020 and published a draft report titled “Estimation of the Market Equilibrium and Economically Optimal Reserve Margins for the ERCOT Region for 2024” on December 1, 2020. ERCOT has now posted a final version of this report. The report may be accessed on ERCOT’s website under Resource Adequacy.
