NOTICE DATE: March 1, 2021

NOTICE TYPE: M-B022221-02 Legal

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Disclosure of Certain Resource-Specific Outage Information

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Resource Entities with Generation Resources, Load Resources, or Energy Storage Resources

DAYS AFFECTED: March 4, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION:

ERCOT has now received several requests from legislators to disclose generator outage information.  In response, ERCOT intends to provide various details from the Outage Scheduler for Generation Resources and Energy Storage Resources that experienced an outage within the February 14-19, 2021 timeframe.  This information will likely include Resource Entity name, station and unit name, outage start and end time, High Sustained Limit (HSL), outaged MW, fuel type, county, and any notes included in the "nature of work" field.  Because Load Resources do not enter outages into the Outage Scheduler, ERCOT does not intend to provide Load Resource outage information at this time, but may do so in the future.

ERCOT is currently in the process of identifying those Generation Resources and Energy Storage Resources for which outage information can be disclosed based on the authorizations received last week.  ERCOT expects that it will have the outage list available to provide to the requesting legislators no later than noon on Thursday, March 4, 2021.  Once the information has been provided to the legislators, ERCOT will post the information on the February 2021 Extreme Weather Event webpage.  Resource Entities that did not provide the requested authorization will also be identified in the submission and posting.

If a Resource Entity did not provide authorization by the deadline last Friday and still wishes to authorize disclosure, it may provide that authorization to [log in to unmask].  Any authorization received after ERCOT has finalized the list will not be effective for the purposes of including a Generation Resource in this submission and posting.
