SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR1020

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  March 15, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On March 15, 2021, Protocol language associated with Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 1020, Allow Some Integrated Energy Storage Designs to Calculate Internal Loads, will be implemented.  

This NPRR clarifies that certain emerging battery storage technologies can be interconnected and operated as a Resource and settled using Wholesale Storage Load (WSL) rules. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
