NOTICE DATE: April 30, 2021

NOTICE TYPE: M-B043021-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update to the Peak Average Wind and Solar Capacity Percentage Workbooks

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: April 30, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION: Pursuant to ERCOT Protocol Section 3.2.6.2 (2), ERCOT publishes Excel workbooks to the Resource Adequacy page that contain the data and calculations to determine the Summer and Winter Peak Average Wind Capacity Contribution percentages that are used in the Capacity, Demand, and Reserves (CDR) report. ERCOT also publishes separate workbooks for solar resources with similar data and calculations. Prior to the Winter 2020-2021 posting, each sheet (or tab) in the workbooks contained only one resource category and season.

Beginning with the Winter 2020-2021 posting, ERCOT has combined the separate Wind and Solar workbooks into one file. Additionally, each sheet in the workbook now contains the data and calculations for all three wind regions as well as solar (if applicable) for a season. These changes are intended to make it easier to navigate through the files as well as to reduce the number of files being posted.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ERCOT posts these workbooks within 60 days of the end of each Summer and Winter season. These updates will be applied to the next Summer posting within 60 days of September 30, 2021.
