NOTICE TYPE: M-B050521-01 Legal

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Integration of City of Lubbock Load into the ERCOT System expected to take place May 29 to 31, 2021

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED:  May 29 to 31, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION: In Public Utility Commission of Texas (“Commission”) Docket No. 47576, Application of the City of Lubbock through Lubbock Power and Light for Authority to Connect a Portion of its System with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the Commission issued an Order on March 15, 2018, approving the integration of the majority of the Load of the City of Lubbock, acting through Lubbock Power and Light (Lubbock), into the ERCOT System.

On April 15, 2021, ERCOT, Lubbock, and Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC filed a joint notice with the Commission stating that it is expected that the integration of Lubbock’s Load into the ERCOT System will take place in stages over the Memorial Day weekend of May 29-31, 2021. Lubbock’s Load will be a Non-Opt-In Entity (NOIE) Load and placed in the West Load Zone.

As authorized by the Order in Docket No. 47576, ERCOT may delay the integration if necessary to maintain reliability of the ERCOT Transmission Grid.  No delay is anticipated at this time; however, ERCOT will provide prompt notice to Market Participants should there be a need to change the dates of the integration.

ERCOT expects to issue a Market Notice in the week prior to the integration that will provide confirmation of the integration dates.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Updates regarding the integration of the Lubbock Load can be found in Commission Docket No. 48113Project to Monitor Lubbock Power & Light's Transition to ERCOT
