NOTICE DATE: June 25, 2021

NOTICE TYPE: M-C052821-05 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Notice of newly identified issues with the Short-Term System Adequacy Report postings

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: June 18, 2021 - current

LONG DESCRIPTION: On June 25, 2021, additional, separate issues were identified with the Short-Term System Adequacy Report (EMIL ID - NP3-763-CD, Report ID 12315).  These newly identified issues are a function of changes that were made during the 2021-R3 release on May 27, 2021 and impact the following columns:

Specifically, for the AvailCapGen and AvailCapReserve columns, the hours beyond DRUC study range are missing capacity from Split Generation Resources,  and over-counting the reduction in capacity of Intermittent Renewable Resources due to Outages.

This issue is different from the ones that were previously identified and resolved on June 18, 2021. ERCOT is currently working on the fix for this new issue and does not have a timeline for resolution.  A follow-up Market Notice will be provided once it is resolved.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Please review the ERCOT website for previous Market Notices related to this subject.

For a detailed description of the new logic implemented in the report, please reference the Short-Term System Adequacy Help page.
