SHORT DESCRIPTION: Partial implementation of PGRR057 and PGRR070

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: October 25, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION: On October 25, 2021, Planning Guide language related to Planning Guide Revision Request (PGRR) 057, Responsibilities for Performing Geomagnetic Disturbance (GMD) Vulnerability Assessments, and PGRR070, Revised Responsibilities for Performing Geomagnetic Disturbance (GMD) Vulnerability Assessments, will be partially implemented. Specifically, paragraph (3) of Section 3.1.8, Planning Geomagnetic Disturbance (GMD) Activities, will be unboxed. 

These PGRRs modify the ERCOT Planning Guides in order to align with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standard TPL-007, Transmission System Planned Performance for Geomagnetic Disturbance Events. The remaining Planning Guide language related to PGRR057 and PGRR070 will be implemented at a later date.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Pursuant to Planning Guide Section 1.2.6, Planning Guide Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
