SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update to the East Texas (EASTEX) Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC)

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: December 02, 2021

LONG DESCRIPTION: The EASTEX GTC which has been effective since November 2017, has static Generic Transmission limits calculated through a off-line Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) study. Going forward, real-time VSAT calculations will be used to determine the Generic Transmission Limits.

The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of this update to the East Texas GTC. ERCOT will begin enforcing this change on December 02, 2021.

Details associated with all GTCs (EMIL ID NP3-770-M , Report ID 11425 ) can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Grid Transmission page under the Generic Transmission Constraints Methodology Secured Area. A Digital Certificate with role ICE_M_VIEW_ECEII is required to access this ECEII data.
