SHORT DESCRIPTION: Back-up control plans due by March 15, 2022

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) and Transmission Operators (TOs)

DAYS AFFECTED: March 15, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT Nodal Operating Guide Sections 3.2.1(2) and 3.7(3) require Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) and Transmission Operators (TOs) to submit written back-up control plans to ERCOT by March 15 of each year.  Nodal Operating Guide Sections 3.2.1(3) and 3.7(4) provide details on the information that should be included in the back-up control plans. 

Back-up control plans must be submitted via secure webmail or encrypted data transfer. QSEs and TOs that do not currently have a Proofpoint Encryption secure email account from ERCOT should either request one by sending an email to [log in to unmask] or notify ERCOT at this email address that they will be submitting plans via encrypted data transfer by COB on Tuesday March 15, 2022.  DO NOT send back-up control plans to this email address.  ERCOT will contact the QSEs and TOs after the request has been made to provide further instructions.

ACTION REQUIRED:  To facilitate submission of back-up control plans to ERCOT by March 15, 2022, QSEs and TOs that do not currently have a Proofpoint Encryption secure email account must either request a new secure email account from ERCOT or notify ERCOT that they will be submitting plans via encrypted data transfer by Tuesday, March 15, 2022, or sooner.
