SHORT DESCRIPTION:  CenterPoint Energy Suspension of Disconnect for Non-Pay Orders due to anticipated Winter Weather has EXPIRED.

 

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Retail Electric Providers

 

LONG DESCRIPTION:  In advance of winter weather forecasted within the CenterPoint Energy territory and in the interest of safety, CenterPoint Energy suspended disconnect for non-pay orders Thursday, February 3, 2022 through Friday, February 4, 2022. This action was due to possible weather that would affect resource availability and public safety concerns. This suspension has expired and DNPs will resume on Monday, February 7, 2022.

CenterPoint Energy’s Process for Suspension of Disconnects during this Winter Weather Event:

·       Disconnect for Non-Payment (DNP) 650_01 transactions submitted after 5:00 P.M Wednesday February 2, 2022 or with a  “Date Wanted” that was within the suspension window were Completed Unexecutable with a Weather Advisory code of “W” for A13 – Weather Advisory

·       New DNP orders submitted for requested future “Date Wanted” dates were accepted by our system.  However, the future “Date Wanted” was required to be in accordance to the CenterPoint Energy resume DNP orders date listed.
