NOTICE DATE: March 16, 2022

NOTICE TYPE: M-B031622-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Resource Planned Outage Capacity Restriction for Spring 2022

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: April 1 – April 27, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION: As of today's date, ERCOT will not approve any additional Resource Planned Outages that are proposed to occur, in part or in whole, during the period of April 1 to April 27, 2022.

Utilities Code § 35.0021(f) requires ERCOT to approve or deny requests by providers of electric generation service for a planned outage. ERCOT has proposed Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 1108, ERCOT Shall Approve or Deny All Resource Outage Requests, to implement this mandate and to establish the criteria that ERCOT would use in evaluating proposed Planned Outages. The current amount of approved and accepted Resource Planned Outage capacity for the identified period already meets the maximum amount that would be approved under NPRR 1108 based on the system conditions that could foreseeably occur during that timeframe.

This restriction does not apply to Planned Outages of Intermittent Renewable Resources (IRR) and Private Use Network (PUN) Generation Resources since these types of Resources are accounted for differently in the calculation of the maximum outages that would be approved under NPRR 1108.
