SHORT DESCRIPTION: Hot Weather Temperature Limits RFI to Resource Entities

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Resource Entities that own or control Generation Resources and Energy Storage Resources

DAYS AFFECTED: June 30, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT is issuing a request for information (RFI) to obtain hot weather temperature limits from Resources. This request is associated with the documented data specifications proposed in NPRR1132 and RRGRR032, which were submitted as part of readiness activities for NERC Cold Weather Project 2019-06. This information will be used as part of ERCOT’s efforts to assess system vulnerabilities during summer 2022.

On June 2, ERCOT will send emails containing links to the Resource Hot Weather Temperature Limits forms. An email will be sent to the Authorized Representative for each Resource Entity representing a Generation Resource or Energy Storage Resource and will contain a link to a unique DocuSign form to provide the following data for each Resource to ERCOT:

and at least one of the following:

The DocuSign form includes a field for comments; please use this field to provide any feedback on the requested information.

ERCOT appreciates your cooperation and requests that Resource Entities ensure the information provided is accurate due to the impact of this information on ERCOT's situational awareness.

ACTION REQUIRED: Resource Entities that receive the RFI are required to complete and return the DocuSign Hot Weather Temperature Limits forms to ERCOT no later than June 30, 2022.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This RFI information serves as a one-time request to supplement ERCOT's IRO-010 and TOP-003 documented specification for the data necessary to perform its Operational Planning and Balancing Authority Analyses, Real-time monitoring, and Real-time Assessments relative to Resource hot weather temperature limits. As such, the Primary Compliance Contacts for NERC-registered Generator Owners and Generator Operators are included in this notice. Note that ERCOT will also be sending another one-time request later this summer to obtain Resource cold weather temperature limits in preparation for winter operations.

ERCOT will be available to respond to any questions about this RFI during discussions of NPRR1132 and RRGRR032 to be held at the June 01 WMS and June 02 ROS meetings.
