NOTICE DATE: June 10, 2022

NOTICE TYPE: M-A061022-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Phasor measurement recording equipment data hold for all Intermittent Renewable Resources (IRR) for the period of June 4, 2022 6:00 AM – June 4, 2022 6:00 PM

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Resource Entities with Intermittent Renewable Resources

DAYS AFFECTED: June 4, 2022 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

LONG DESCRIPTION: At approximately 12:59:25 on June 4, 2022, a system fault occurred and was immediately followed by several generators tripping or reducing their output, with a total generation loss of approximately 2,519 MW. This included 14 Intermittent Renewable Resource (IRR) facilities accounting for approximately 1,100 MW of generation loss.  Because of this, frequency dropped to 59.706 Hz and 1,227 MW of RRS and 1,116 MW of Load Resources were deployed.

To assist ERCOT in its event analysis and model validation, each Resource Entity must, for each IRR, retain all available phasor measurement recording equipment data, including any event files generated by disturbance monitoring equipment, digital fault recorders, or relays during the period of June 4, 2022 6:00 AM – June 4, 2022 6:00 PM for a minimum of three years, as required by Nodal Operating Guide Section 6.1.3.4(b). ERCOT also requests that each Resource Entity retain any event files generated by inverter oscillography equipment
