SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation details of NOGRR239

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: July 1, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On July 1, 2022, Nodal Operating Guide language associated with Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) 239, WAN Data Protection Responsibilities, will be implemented in alignment with the July 1, 2022 effective date of North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standard CIP-012-1, Cyber Security Communications between Control Centers.

NOGRR239 revised Nodal Operating Guide Section 7.1 to clarify that the “handoff” of data transmitted between ERCOT and each Wide Area Network (WAN) Participant occurs at each ERCOT-managed router located at the WAN Participant’s WAN demarcation point.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Pursuant to Nodal Operating Guide Section 1.3.5, Nodal Operating Guide Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
