SHORT DESCRIPTION: Workshop to discuss the implementation details for Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) representing Resources and interested parties

LONG DESCRIPTION: On July 25, 2022, ERCOT will host a WebEx meeting to outline the implementation details related to the Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project. The FFR Advancement project is the second phase in the series of work being done to implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 863, Creation of ERCOT Contingency Reserve Service and Revisions to Responsive Reserve.

The forum will focus on changes in business operations that will include FFR submissions in the market system (e.g., Ancillary Service Offer, and Current Operating Plan (COP), etc.), FFR operations in Real-Time operations, and MOTE testing availability and requirements. ERCOT recommends all QSEs that provide Ancillary Services (Regulation, Responsive, Non-Spinning Reserves) attend this WebEx meeting.  Any other interested parties are also welcome to attend.

Technical changes supporting the FFRA project changes in submissions, reporting, and testing will continue to be provided at the Technology Working Group (next meeting expected on August 4, 2022).

Protocol language related to the following Nodal Protocol Revision Requests (NPRRs) and Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) will be partially implemented as a part of this project,

It is anticipated that FFR Advancement project will be made effective October 13, 2022.

ACTION REQUIRED: QSEs representing Resources that are providing Ancillary Services are encouraged to attend the Webex meeting on July 25, 2022. A QSE that wishes to qualify Resources to provide FFR may submit a request for qualification by contacting its respective ERCOT Account Manager.
