SHORT DESCRIPTION: Notice of application of Grid United Texas, LLC, for a certificate of convenience and necessity under PURA §§ 37.051(c-1) and 37.056(b)(2).

LONG DESCRIPTION: On August 12, 2022, the Public Utility Commission of Texas (Commission) entered an order in Docket No. 53758, Application of Grid United Texas LLC for Partial Certificate of Convenience and Necessity Rights Pursuant to PURA §§ 37.051(c-1) and 37.056(b)(2) to Interconnect an HVDC Facility to the ERCOT Transmission Grid, directing ERCOT to provide a Market Notice of the application filed by Grid United Texas, LLC in that proceeding.   The application seeks Commission approval to interconnect the proposed Pecos West Intertie Project, which is described as a high voltage direct current (HVDC) interconnection between ERCOT and the Western Electricity Coordinating Council.  As described in the application, the project would have an initial capacity of 1,500 MW but could be expanded to 3,000 MW.  The project would interconnect at the LCRA Transmission Services Corporation Bakersfield Switching Station in Pecos County, Texas, and at an El Paso Electric Company station in El Paso County, Texas. A copy of the notice proposed by Grid United is attached to this Market Notice.
