SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update - ERCOT TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocol deprecation on ERCOT’s External Web Services API postponed

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Market Participant personnel that administer programmatic access to ERCOT’s production and testing environments and User Security Administrators (USAs)

DAYS AFFECTED: August 26, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has postponed the implementation date for deprecating the TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on ERCOT External Web Service Automatic Programmatic Interface (API). The new implementation date has not been determined. ERCOT will send a follow-up market notice once the date is set.

ACTION REQUIRED: ERCOT encourages Market Participants to adopt these changes prior to the new dates as ERCOT already supports the TLS1.2 protocol.  Failure to make the required changes on the Market Participant side can cause connection errors and will prevent access to ERCOT’s External Web Services API’s.
