SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation details for Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project and Partial Implementation of NPRR863, NPRR1015, NPRR1079, and NOGRR187

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: October 13, 2022 and October 14, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION: On October 13, 2022, ERCOT systems will be updated to implement changes related to the Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project. The FFR Advancement project is the second phase in the series of work being done to implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 863, Creation of ERCOT Contingency Reserve Service and Revisions to Responsive Reserve. 

On October 14, 2022, Protocol language associated with the following Revision Requests will be partially implemented:

ERCOT hosted a workshop on July 25, 2022 to outline the implementation details related to this project.  MOTE testing in support of this implementation is currently in progress.   Weekly Market Readiness Meetings (QSEs for MOTE/FFRA/FFSS changes) are currently being held.  The link to the next Weekly Market Readiness meeting is located here.

ACTION REQUIRED: A QSE that wishes to qualify Resources to provide FFR may submit a request for qualification by contacting its respective ERCOT Account Manager.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: FFRA Report changes will be communicated as part of the regular Release Notice information for scheduled releases.

Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, and Nodal Operating Guide Section 1.3.5, Nodal Operating Guide Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
