NOTICE DATE: March 3, 2023

NOTICE TYPE: M-D030323-01 General

SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT releases new Maximum Capacity values on Fuel Mix dashboard

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: March 6, 2023

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT is enhancing its Fuel Mix dashboard to provide the Maximum Capacity value for each fuel type. This is the maximum seasonal capacity for each generator that is provided in the registration process, aggregated by fuel type, regardless of the status of the unit (online or offline, available or on outage). The new data will be made available after 6:00 p.m. (CPT) on Monday, March 6.

Please note that there are various reasons that a resource may not reach its Maximum Capacity value, even in times of high demand. Resources may not be called upon to be dispatched or may face transmission constraints or other operating limitations that prevent operating at the registered maximum levels. This Maximum Capacity value merely shows the aggregated maximum seasonal capacity for each fuel type, which is updated weekly for display in the Fuel Mix dashboard.

ACTION REQUIRED: A Chromium browser should be used for best results when accessing ERCOT.com. Users may need to refresh their browser in order to see the new data.
