SHORT DESCRIPTION: 45-Day Notice of Increase in System Administration Fee

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: January 1, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION: At its Open Meeting on November 2, 2023, the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) voted to approve an increase in the System Administration Fee (SAF) rate from the current rate of $0.555 per MWh to $0.630 per MWh, effective January 1, 2024.

16 Tex. Admin. Code (TAC) § 25.363(e) requires any change to the SAF rate approved by the PUCT to be noticed through standard Market processes at least 45 days before implementation.

Paragraph (2) of Protocol Section 9.16.1, ERCOT System Administration Fee, requires ERCOT to post the changed SAF rate and effective date on the ERCOT website within two Business Days following PUCT approval. This notice can continue to be accessed in the Market Notice Archives on the ERCOT website. In addition, upon PUCT issuance of a written order approving the changed SAF, the order will be posted to www.ercot.com/about/governance.
