SHORT DESCRIPTION: 40th Annual Operator Training Seminar (OTS) and Energy Emergency Alert (EEA) Load Shed Drill

DAYS AFFECTED: March 18-21, 2024; March 25-28; April 1-4; April 8-11; April 15-18; April 22-25
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT is conducting two separate on-site events at the ERCOT Training Facility in Taylor during the affected days. The 2024 OTS will be held Monday afternoon and for a full day Tuesday of each week. A joint EEA Load Shed Drill will be held for a full day Wednesday and on Thursday morning of each week.

OTS: The 40th Annual OTS topics are as follows. Upon successful completion, a total of nine NERC Continuing Education Hours (CEH) are possible.

EEA Load Shed Drill: ERCOT will also conduct a Joint EEA training drill on-site with the TOs in the ERCOT Region. This training exercise will consist of a joint training simulation with the ERCOT System Operators, communication practices, and tabletop exercises. A total of 12 NERC CEH are possible each week.
Note that these EEA Load Shed Drills are distinct from the winter and summer load shed tabletop exercises performed annually in accordance with Public Utility Regulatory Act (PURA) Section 38.077; those will be scheduled separately at the appropriate time.
