NOTICE DATE: September 23, 2024

NOTICE TYPE: M-F083024-02 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Updated the Logic for Ancillary Service Failed Quantity Telemetry Calculations for Combined Cycle Resources with an Ancillary Service (AS) Resource Responsibility.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: September 26, 2024 onward

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will be implementing a change to the logic used to determine Ancillary Service (AS) Failed Quantity Telemetry Calculations for Combined Cycle Resources with an AS Responsibility.

As noted in M-F083024-01 on August 30, 2024, the logic used to determine if a Qualified Scheduling Entity's (QSE's) AS Supply Responsibility is being met by the Resources in its portfolio may not be correctly accounting for instances where a Combined Cycle Generation Resource with an AS Resource Responsibility changes from one configuration to another configuration.  To address this issue, ERCOT will update the logic to monitor telemetry at the Combined Cycle Train instead of at the configuration.  The update is planned to be deployed into production on September 26, 2024.  This Notice is to provide Market Participants with notice of this update in the event that any changes might be required to their shadow settlements to ensure they are consuming the AS Resource Responsibility data for the Combined Cycle Train consistent with the new logic.
