SHORT DESCRIPTION: Error found on Price Correction for Operating Day 01/20/2024 - Impacting the DAM Market and Real-Time Market

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT found an issue with the implementation of the ERCOT Board of Directors (Board) directed price corrections for Day-Ahead Settlement Point Prices (DASPPs) and Day-Ahead Market Clearing Prices for Capacity (MCPCs) for Operating Day January 20, 2024. A first set of price corrections was published to the Market on January 23, 2024 and were included in the settlements and posting of DAM Statements for the Operating Day January 20, 2024. Some prices were reverted to the original values following the application of the April Board-approved price corrections. This occurred due to incorrect usage of ‘original prices’ not matching those that were already altered by the first set of price corrections. This issue affects the DASPP and MCPC prices.

In order to correct the data, ERCOT will have to reissue a DAM Resettlement for Operating Day January 20, 2024. This also impacts the Real-Time Market and the CRR Balancing Account amounts for the operating month of January 2024, which will also be resettled. Subsequent Market Notices will be issued upon posting of the Resettlement statements and invoices.
