SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has issued a Request for Proposal for
Emergency Interruptible Load Service for the contract period October 1,
2008 through January 31, 2009.

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  QSEs

DAY AFFECTED:  Resource Identification Forms are due August 22, 2008;
Bids and Self-Provision Offers are due September 5, 2008.

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for
Emergency Interruptible Load Service (EILS) for the contract period
October 1 through January 31, 2009. Resource Identification Forms are
due to ERCOT by August 22, 2008.  Responses to this RFP, including bids
and Self Provision offers, are due September 5, 2008. 

This RFP and all supporting documents associated with the procurement of
EILS are available on the ERCOT website.  These documents include:

*        EILS Registration and Proposal Forms

*        EILS Technical Requirements and Scope of Work

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Questions and answers related to this RFP will
be posted to the ERCOT EILS website at

Awarded bids will be communicated to QSEs by ERCOT on September 15,
2008.  Summary information on these awards will be released in a Market
