SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Market Shadow Price changes within CRR Auction Results

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRR Account Holders

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT is implementing a change to correct a display defect in the Common Downloads Binding Constraints Results file published within the CRR Auction Results posting following each CRR Auction. The change to the Binding Constraints file is specific to the Shadow Price column.

Currently, the Shadow Price column displays either a positive or negative value based on the direction of the flow. If the flow originates from the "From" terminal of the transmission element, the shadow price is positive. If the flow originates from the "To" terminal of the transmission element, the shadow price is negative; however, using standard definitions, shadow prices cannot be negative.

Upon implementation of this change, all prices reflected in the Shadow Price column of the Binding Constraints file will reflect a positive numeric value irrespective of the direction of the flow. The defect correction will be implemented on August 24, 2011, and will be included in the CRR Auction Results with posting dates from September 2011 forward.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  The CRR Auction Results file is available on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Markets Tab/CRR Page/CRR Auction Portlet (https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Market+Information/CRR) as well as on ERCOT.com under Market Information/Congestion Revenue Rights (http://www.ercot.com/mktinfo/crr/). An ERCOT Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS.
