NOTICE TYPE: M-A061711-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Settlement Points to be retired from Network Operations Model

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED: July 1, 2011

LONG DESCRIPTION: The attached list of Settlement Points will be retired with the July 1, 2011, Network Operations Model load. For the July CRR Auction and the Balance of Year CRR Auction, the retiring Settlement Points were non-biddable. Likewise, the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) will exclude bids and offers at these Settlement Points when they are effectively removed from the model.

The DAM does not have the capability to reject offers and bids submitted on a future Network Operations Model. Therefore, ERCOT will manually remove any bids and offers on these points prior to the DAM execution at 10:00 on June 30, 2011, for Operating Days July 1, 2011, and beyond. This will prevent DAM awards on points that will not exist in the Real-Time Market on and after July 1, 2011.

Similarly, Market Participants should NOT submit trades that include the attached Settlement Points for Operating Days July 1, 2011, and beyond. ERCOT will manually remove any confirmed trades that include these points prior to the execution of Settlements.
The model load is scheduled to be completed around 00:01 on July 1, 2011. Once the model load is complete, all market submissions will be validated against the data within the loaded model, which will not include these points. From that point on, the Market Management System will automatically reject any submissions on these points.
Also note that for most of the Settlement Points that are being retired (not in the model for Operating Days July 1, 2011, and beyond) there is a related addition of a Settlement Point on Operating Day July 1, 2011. Notice M-D061011-01 provided information on the additional Settlement Points that are scheduled to become effective July 1, 2011.
