SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Initial constraint activation level on West - North Constraint raised to 80%

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  September 1, 2011
LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT is updating its System Operator Procedures to raise the initial constraint activation level on the West - North Generic Constraint from 70% to 80%. On September 1, 2011, ERCOT will begin activating the West - North Generic Constraint at an initial level of 80% of the posted Generic Transmission Limit (GTL). Once the constraint is activated, the operators will increase the constraint activation level as the flow on the constraint stabilizes, as is done currently.
