NOTICE TYPE:  M-A090811-01 INFORMATIONAL:  ERCOT’s Support of Internet Explorer v8 (IE8)
SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT is currently testing Internet Explorer v8 (IE8) compatibility
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  Sunday, April 1, 2012
LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT is planning to have all market facing applications compatible with Microsoft browser Internet Explorer v8 (IE8) by April 1, 2012. The IE8 browser is compatible with the latest version of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7) and contains improved security features.  Prior to April 1st, 2012 ERCOT will publish a list of recommended IE8 browser configuration settings.
ERCOT’s support for IE8 will allow Market Participants to upgrade their browsers anytime after the effective date. Any Market Participant that has a problem with IE8 after April 1, 2012 will be able to report the issue to Client Services or to ERCOT’s Helpdesk at 512-248-6800, option 3, or [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. ERCOT will continue to support Microsoft IE7 until at least mid-2014. No action is required from Market Participants at this time.
A progress update will be sent Q4 2011.
