SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Delayed upgrade to 2048-bit SSL server certificates
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  June 15, 2011
LONG DESCRIPTION:  Due to current and projected system operations conditions, ERCOT is delaying the upgrade to 2048-bit Secured Socket Layer (SSL) server certificates until further notice. The upgrade potentially impacts market submissions for companies that have not yet upgraded their server certificates; thus, the upgrade will be completed on a future date to minimize any such impacts.
A follow-up Notice will be sent with further details when the new upgrade date is established.
If you have already installed the new certificates, please disregard this Notice as there is no need to install the certificates again.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  As a reminder, the ERCOT Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) is available for market testing of the 2048-bit certificates prior to the production cutover. The MOTE environment can be accessed with the following URLs:
