SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Elkton SPS is now in service
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  January 14, 2009

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The Elkton Special Protection Scheme (SPS) is now in service.  The Elkton SPS opens the Elkton - Athens line section of the Elkton - Forest Grove 138 kV Line upon detection of an overload on that line.  Further details of this SPS can be found in the "Special Protection Systems Information" section of the Planning and Operations Information secure website at http://planning.ercot.com/login/login.
