SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation of slack bus change for ERCOT Network Operations Model
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  December 2, 2015
LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will be implementing a change to the slack bus in the Network Operations Model. The change will be from the current slack bus, MLSES_UNIT1, to the new slack bus, CPSES_UNIT1. The new slack bus will become effective on December 2, 2015 with the first Day-Ahead Market (DAM) Operating Day of December 3, 2015 (DAM run on December 2, 2015).
Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs) will not change because the changes in the two components, the energy component (System Lambda) and the congestion component (sum (shift factor *shadow price)), will cancel out. Market impacts of this change are outlined in the presentation linked below.
