SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Proposal to Model Mitchell Bend Special Protection System
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  Comments due September 6, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has received a proposal from Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) to add a Special Protection System (SPS) at Mitchell Bend. The Mitchell Bend SPS is designed to monitor and relieve thermal violations on the Mitchell Bend - Rocky Creek 345 kV line and Mitchell Bend - DeCordova 345 kV line under various system conditions. The exit strategy of this SPS is the upgrade of the Mitchell Bend to DeCordova 345 kV Line and the upgrade of the Mitchell Bend to Rocky Creek 345 kV Line. This SPS is anticipated to be in-service on or before February, 2017.


The proposed Mitchell Bend SPS is being reviewed by ERCOT.
Comments on the proposal are due by September 6, 2016 and should be submitted to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> using the attached comment form.  Any questions or concerns submitted by this date will be addressed by ERCOT or Oncor.
ACTION REQUIRED:  Any comments to this proposal are due to ERCOT by September 6, 2016 using the attached form.
