SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update - Proposal to retire Monticello Mining Special Protection System
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has completed its review of the proposal from Oncor Electric Delivery Company (Oncor) to retire the Monticello Mining Special Protection System (SPS). The Monticello Mining SPS was designed to monitor & relieve thermal violations on the Monticello to Monticello Mining 138 kV line (1650_A).



With the completion of the rebuild project to increase the static Emergency Rating of the Monticello to Monticello Mining 138 kV line, ERCOT is recommending that the Monticello Mining SPS be retired.
The Monticello Mining SPS is scheduled to be retired on March 16, 2016.
