SHORT DESCRIPTION: New Generic Transmission Constraint in the McCamey area
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: March 26, 2018
LONG DESCRIPTION: As a result of the Q1 2018 Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA), performed pursuant to Planning Guide Section 5.9 Quarterly Stability Assessment, ERCOT has identified the need to create a Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) in the McCamey area due to the installation of new Generation Resources in the region. The GTC is established to address instability issues in the McCamey area, and has been named the McCamey GTC.
The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants about the need for the McCamey GTC. ERCOT will begin enforcing limits for this GTC on March 26, 2018.
Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area in the "Generic Transmission Constraints" portlet. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
