NOTICE TYPE: W-A011617-02 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Removal of the Bakersfield Generic Transmission Constraint
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: May 4, 2017
LONG DESCRIPTION: The Bakersfield Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) has been in service since January 25, 2017. This GTC was needed to resolve local stability issues associated with a Generation Resource in West Texas. Since the implementation of this GTC, ERCOT has performed additional assessments. These additional assessments have concluded that there is no stability issue in the area at this time. As such, the Bakersfield GTC can be removed.
The purpose of this Notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants about the removal of the Bakersfield GTC. ERCOT will cease posting limits for this GTC on May 4, 2017.
Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT MIS Secure Area in the "Generic Transmission Constraints" portlet. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
