SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Retiring of the Baytown Autotransformer RAP

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  February 8, 2017

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has completed its review of the proposal to retire the Baytown 138/345kV Autotransformers AT1 and AT2 Remedial Action Plan (RAP) from Calpine Corp (RE). The Baytown RAP was designed to monitor and relieve thermal violations on either of the Baytown autotransformers due to the loss of the other.



With the RAP no longer in place, Calpine will manage the congestion with an in-house curtailment plan. The expectation is that Calpine would self-curtail the Baytown Energy generators to under 100% of the emergency rating post-contingency.



The Baytown RAP is scheduled to be retired on February 8, 2017.
