SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Initial determination of RMR status for Valley NG Power Company LLC Units 1-3
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  March 17, 2010
LONG DESCRIPTION:  Valley NG Power Company LLC submitted Notices of Suspension of Operations (NSOs) for Valley Units 1, 2 and 3 on February 25, 2010. ERCOT has completed its preliminary review and is issuing its initial determination that all three Resources are required to support ERCOT System reliability. Pursuant to Section 6.5.9.1(6), the initial determination is subject to modification by a final determination, due sixty (60) days after receipt of the NSOs, which will allow ERCOT additional time to study other alternatives. ERCOT will continue to study the need for these Resources for Reliability Must Run (RMR) Service and will issue its final determination by April 26, 2010.
