NOTICE TYPE: W-D073115-04 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Weighted Short Circuit Ratio Implementation on Panhandle Generic Transmission Constraint
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: ERCOT Market Participants
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT recently implemented, in its Real-Time applications, processing that considers system strength limitations for the Panhandle Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC). This analysis is in addition to the voltage stability assessment currently being performed for the Panhandle GTC. ERCOT has been monitoring the performance of the system strength application, and on November 2, 2016 will begin to consider and enforce the system strength assessment in its Real-Time, Day-Ahead, and Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) Auction GTC analyses. The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of the update to the calculation of Panhandle GTC limits.
Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area in the "Generic Transmission Constraints" portlet. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
