SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Unplanned Outage of Energy Management System
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  July 7, 2016 from 11:42:00 - 13:23:00 CDT
LONG DESCRIPTION:  On July 7, 2016 from 11:42:00 - 13:23:00 CDT, ERCOT experienced an issue with the Energy Management System (EMS).  EMS was unavailable from 11:42 until 12:05 and was running in a degraded state from 12:05 until 13:23. EMS has been fully functional since that time. EMS reports and dashboards for 11:42:00 - 13:23:00 CDT on Operating Day (OD) July 7, 2016 should be considered invalid.  Please disregard such reports during that timeframe.  No report postings were missed as a result of the issue.
ERCOT will correct prices for Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) intervals from 11:42:55 to 13:20:25 for OD July 7, 2016 (i.e., for Real-Time Market 15-minute Settlement Intervals from Interval Ending (IE) 11:45 to IE 13:30). SCED prices from 11:40:47 will be used for the affected SCED intervals. Complete price correction data will be posted on ERCOT's Market Information System (MIS) as soon as possible, but no later than 16:00 on July 11, 2016.
