NOTICE DATE: July 7, 2016
NOTICE TYPE: W-A120115-02 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Removal of the Molina Generic Transmission Constraint
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: July 8, 2016
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT implemented the Molina Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) in December 2015 to resolve local stability issues associated with the interconnection of a Generation Resource in South Texas. This Generation Resource has recently changed its Point of Interconnection, which has removed the need for the GTC. ERCOT will remove the GTC from the Transmission Constraint Manager and cease posting limits for and enforcing this GTC on July 8, 2016.
Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT MIS Secure Area in the "Generic Transmission Constraints" portlet. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.

NOTICE DATE: December 1, 2015
NOTICE TYPE: W-A120115-01 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Molina Generic Transmission Constraint
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: December 1, 2015
LONG DESCRIPTION: A Full Interconnection Study (FIS) recently completed by American Electric Power has indicated a need for a Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) on the Aguilare - Javalina Tap 138 kV line upon the installation of the Generation Resource studied in the FIS. This GTC has been established and is identified as the Molina GTC (MOLINA in the Network Operations Model). The limits associated with this GTC result from anticipated control instability of Generation Resources in the area. ERCOT is enforcing the limits associated with this GTC starting today, December 1, 2015.
The MOLINA GTC will not be incorporated into the Network Operations Model until the model load on December 9, 2015. In the interim, ERCOT is using a manual constraint on the Aguilare - Javalina Tap 138 kV line to manage this stability constraint.
Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area in the "Generic Transmission Constraints" portlet. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
