NOTICE DATE: June 22, 2017

NOTICE TYPE: W-A051917-04 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Updated Generic Limits for the Panhandle Generic Transmission Constraint

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED: June 22, 2017

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has completed an updated assessment of generic limits associated with the Panhandle Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC). Included in the assessment are voltage stability and system strength limits associated with certain outages outside the Panhandle region as defined by the GTC. These specific outages were recently discussed by Electric Transmission Texas (ETT) in a WebEx on June 15, as detailed in Market Notice W-A051917-02 WebEx for Extended ETT Outages on Certain CREZ 345 kV Transmission Lines in Northwest Texas.

ERCOT provided this additional assessment as a courtesy to Market Participants concerned about the potential impact these outages may have on the Panhandle GTC limits. The purpose of this Market Notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of the update to the projected values for the Panhandle GTC limits.

Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT MIS Secure Area in the "Generic Transmission Constraints" portlet. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
