NOTICE DATE: June 25, 2009
NOTICE TYPE: M-D042309-03 Notice of System Change (PRR/SCR)
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation of SCR 754, Replace Email Delivery of WGRPP Forecasts
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Resource Entities and QSEs with Wind-powered Generation Resources
DAY AFFECTED: June 24, 2009
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has implemented an XML query for Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) representing Wind-powered Generation Resources (WGR) to download hourly WGR forecasts required per PRR 763 and SCR 754 on June 24, 2009. The XML query as specified in the ERCOT Participant Interface: XML query Section 6.5 (Query for AWS Wind Forecast) was sent through a market notice on April 23, 2009.
The implementation is intended to remedy the limitations of email delivery of AWS wind generation forecasts to QSEs by employing zonal infrastructure and processes for production quality 7x24 deliveries.
ACTION REQUIRED: Implement the ERCOT Participant Interface: XML query described in Section 6.5 (Query for AWS Wind Forecast) and use the ERCOT production system for retrieving data using this query.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The current method of email delivery of AWS forecasts will remain until all QSE's with WGRs are able to retrieve the forecasts using the XML query. It is expected that QSEs will use their best efforts to transition to the newly implemented method of retrieving the AWS forecasts so that the email delivery process can be terminated.
