SHORT DESCRIPTION:  PUCT ORDER to ADOPT AMENDMENTS TO §25.214 and §25.474 that will affect Retail Market Participants.
 INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRs and TDSPs
DAY AFFECTED:  August 16, 2009
 LONG DESCRIPTION:  Effective August 16, 2009 switch transactions submitted to ERCOT will be processed using the new timelines outlined below as indicated in the PUCT expedited switch rule.

 1.  On cycle switches will now be referred to as "Standard Switches" and will be processed with a First Available Switch Date (FASD) of three (3) business days.  The TDSP will have the three (3) business days calculated for the FASD and an additional 4 business days to schedule the meter read.

2.    Off cycle switches will now be referred to as "Self Selected Switches".

3.    The Switch notification mailer will no-longer provide a cancellation code. Instead, the notification will provide contact information for both the gaining REP and losing REP.  See attachment to view the PUCT approved wording for the new mailers.

4.    The three (3) day Right of Rescission period as detailed in PUCT Substantive Rule §25.474 (j) will still be applicable for all switches.

5.    Corrections for Right of Rescission issues will be handled via MarkeTrak.
Please review PUCT ORDER ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO §25.214 AND §25.474 to determine if they will have any impact on your internal applications or processes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: If a switch is submitted prior to August 16, 2009 the switch will not be updated to an expedited switch.
